Why does my Chevy truck just die all of a sudden?

I will be driving down the road and suddenly everything dies. This includes all electrical and the engine itself. I have to safely pull over. I then lift the hood and wiggle the wire going to the battery. Suddenly all the power accessories come back on. Now most would just assume this is due to a weak wire. But if that is the case, why would the whole engine die like its been doing? Any clues on this will be greatly appreciated!

This problem has plagued chevy trucks for quite a while. You better just take the wires off the battery and give them a really good cleaning, the positive side should have two cables on one bolt- take this apart and clean between these and then put the cables back on the battery and tighten. Then again your battery connections may just need to be tightened

if the whole thing dies you may have a weak alternator
and the loose wires are also not charging the battery well enough you can sometimes take it to a parts shop and they may check it for free

if the hole thing stops and you wiggle to battery wire and you can start it again is sounds like the wire is bad but also you problem need a new alternator to check the alternator if you start the truck and disconnect the battery your truck should keep running
you can also have it check out at your local auto store for free
advance auto is a good store to go to

because if the wire you jiggle dont have a good contact, then the battery cant lead the juice to the accessories.
