i have only done a few mods full exhaust, performance chip, cai. should i race him for money?
You are scared he might actually beat you. Most of the older chevy trucks can hold their own because they have decent sized V8 engines. Don't let the look of his truck make you think you could beat him. I used to have a 1981 malibu wagon that was all stock and it had a 350cu engine in it. Tell you what it was ugly but it was one hell of a sleeper. Wasnt too many cars in my neighborhood that could touch it.

well let me put it to you this way, I have a 1958 GMC that will smoke anything in town. What kind of engine does he have? Is it rebuilt? does it have a performance cam etc.. does he have big tires with a lift? small tires? you gotta put everything into perspective. But how much money are we talking? is it worth losing? is it worth winning?

I think it's lose/lose either way. You win and you only beat an old 'junk' pickup with a v6 mustang. You lose, and you lose to junk pickup.
