I have a 1979 Chevy C10 Pick up it has the original 15' rally sport wheels, a brand new windsheild, spare tranny, tow package, brand new front brakes including calipers, roaters and everything else, a campershell, the back end brakes are 2 years old, theres the usual rust spots, and the bodies sinking on the left side a little bit, it has a v8 engine, its a great work truck, i was thinking 1200 or 1000
I would say with the current market for pickups, yours is maybe worth $500. There are a lot of them for sale in better shape for $800-$1000.
i have a 1979 chevy 3/4 ton 350ci with a manual trans. I want to limit broken parts on the truck this plow season where should i spend more for high end parts on the truck? I was told to replace the clutch with best i can get, change tierods and ball joints, and weld plate steel to the front frame.
It is not how strong the truck is, it is the way you plow that is important. Your truck should be OK as it is, if it is in good shape. Just try not to plow with the transfer case in LOW. Plowing in LOW sometimes causes the front differential to wear. Change your oil, lube the chassis and check your tire pressure more often.
