i need a detailed scematic of the full wiring harness on a 6.2 chevy diesel truck, is there such a thing?
www.gm-diesel.com
Here are a list of some of the things I’ve changed;
Module in distributor (Not sure if I’m saying this right)
Coil in distributor cap
Fuel line
Fuel injector hose
Ignition switch
Ignition control module
Spark plugs
Fuel pump
Oil filter
Air filter
Fuel switching unit (one tank)
There are a few things more that have been worked on, things I don’t have written receipts for.
I’ve suggested a diagnostic test, but the mechanic claims that there isn’t the wire inside the truck to hook up the machine. He is a mobile mechanic.
Catalytic converter which he says needs to be checked at a muffler shop.
But the truck still runs well for about a block, then makes a loud noise like the muffler is shot. And drops speed and will not pick up speed with foot on accelerator, then kills. It is missing really bad now.
It is becoming more and more frustrating, because he’s supposed to be a mechanic with 30+ years experience and cannot figure out what is wrong. He keeps checking different things, and changing things but the same BS continues to happen. I’m fed up to my ears with it, can someone suggest
(I’ve told him about the carburetor but he insists that it is fine) I feel like he’s just taking me on an overpriced ride, and playing a guessing game with my wallet. Someone please help, I will be forever grateful if you can offer any advice. I would like to find a reputable mechanic shop Texas. This mobile mechanic says he’s never seen anything like this truck before. One minute it will run great and the next it is stopped at the light. I have not had the catalytic converter checked, I have only used super (plus) supreme fuel since I’ve had the truck. I think its obvious that I need a more capable mechanic. I have relisted this question because I did not get the comprehensive answers I needed. Does anyone know of a website that could get me an actual mechanic for live chat or email. Thanks.
He has adjusted carb, checked timing chain with timing light.
Things to try, disconnect the catalytic converter to rule that out . disconnect the vacuum line to the egr valve . You do have one of those electronic controlled carbs. They are a pain in the butt. Disconnect the cannon plugs to the carb and drive it. He only adjusted the IDLE mixture . That carb has 2 solenoids That can screw you over. If any of those solenoids go bad you will get a check engine light.
