how do you change the angle of front and rear axles on a 96 chevy truck to accomidate a lift kit

The pinion angle on the rear axle can be adjusted by using a wedge shaped block between the axle ’spring perch’ and the leaf spring. They can be bought at different angles depending on how much you lifted the truck to get correct pinion angles.

The front has IFS, so the angle is determined by how the differential housing is mounted to the frame. When using a larger suspension lift (4″+) the front differential is also lowered to help with the angles of the half-shafts. The kit will position the differential at the proper angle, and you shouldn’t have any issues with the front drive shaft (angle or length).

The GM vehicles with Auto-Trac are required to have a new front drive shaft with the larger IFS lifts, but you don’t have this, so you don’t need to worry about it, but you may come across this when shopping for lift kits.

Why does my Chevy truck just die all of a sudden?

I will be driving down the road and suddenly everything dies. This includes all electrical and the engine itself. I have to safely pull over. I then lift the hood and wiggle the wire going to the battery. Suddenly all the power accessories come back on. Now most would just assume this is due to a weak wire. But if that is the case, why would the whole engine die like its been doing? Any clues on this will be greatly appreciated!

This problem has plagued chevy trucks for quite a while. You better just take the wires off the battery and give them a really good cleaning, the positive side should have two cables on one bolt- take this apart and clean between these and then put the cables back on the battery and tighten. Then again your battery connections may just need to be tightened

i need complete instructions on how to replace the power steering gear box on a 79' chevy truck?

i have it completley loose but theres not enough room to lift it up out of the truck and i was wondering if theres something else im supposed to take off like the guide rods or something?

there should be three bolts that hold the steering box to the frame and then disconnect the steering shaft and then the Pittman arm,and the steering box should come out from under the truck….if you mean the power steering pump located on the left front side of the motor first losten the adjusting bolts should have two one by the top other on the side and remove the belt then you should have two lines going to the steering box these will have to be removed also.then there should be a third nut located behind the pump this has too come off also,so you should have two bolts and nut two lines and a belt to remove…and should come straight up from the motor…..
