Part 2 – Old Forgotten Grain Truck

Please read the whole description.

At long last, here’s more video about the old forgotten grain truck. As best I’ve been able to find out, it is a 1962 model.

There were lots of little electrical problems, and it turned out I didn’t have the right key after all. (Which means I now have a key of suitable vintage but no idea what it goes with.) That didn’t matter because the keyswitch embly on this old truck is easily removed by just unscrewing a trim ring on the front. The wiring then unplugs from the back. Even more fortunately, the key switch has all of its contact points and their functions clearly labeled.

Once I had power into the cab and the right set of contacts were jumpered, the old truck cranked over nicely.

Next up–will it start?

My apologies for the less than spectacular editing and lack of explanation in the video. This one didn’t come together quite as I hoped it would.
